The University of Idaho Department of Theatre Arts presents “The Moors,” a dark, gothic drama by Jen Silverman, March 6-15 at the Hartung Theater, 625 Stadium Dr., Moscow.
“The Moors” features two sisters and a maid who live a desolate existence on the bleak moors. Guarding their house is a giant mastiff who strikes up a relationship with a hapless moorhen. Things begin to unravel with the arrival of a governess, taking all down a dangerous path of love and desperation.
“The Moors” is directed by guest artist Lennie Dean, who has taught, acted, directed and worked as a dramaturge in New York and California.
The cast includes seven students from the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences: Carly McMinn from Georgia; Aidan Leonard, Lewiston; Alexa Lamers, Montana; Grace McGreevy, Moscow; Joseph Winder, Lafayette, California, by way of England; Kalyssa Montoya, Emmett; and Katharine Sonas, Bay Area, California.
Admission is free for U of I students and $6-$17 for the public. Advance tickets are available at BookPeople of Moscow, at the Department of Theatre Arts, Shoup Hall, Room 201, by calling 208-885-6465 or at the door 60 minutes before curtain
