Join us to see our new exhibit “In Pursuit of the Mountains: A Local History of Mountaineering” where we explore the history and motivations of local mountain expeditions and conservation. Topics covered are first ascents and surveying, the U.S. Forest Service and SNRA, and C.C.C. Camps. The story of Robert and Miriam Underhill, world-renowned mountain climbers from the 1930’s is also featured, as well as more recent mountain climbers of note. The BCHM has partnered with the SNRA and Forest Service for some artifacts on loan in the display. This exhibit will be featured through the 2022 season.
Hours are 11:00-5:00 Monday- Saturday, 1:00-5:00 Sundays.
Admission is Free. Private museum tours can be arranged.
